According to Rule 10 of the Union’s Constitution, the Central Executive is comprised of seven (7) National Officers (who make up the Presidency and Secretariat) and are elected by the membership to serve the Union for a period of four (4) years.
The Central Executive reports to the General Council and all Conferences of Delegates, and has the responsibility for:
- the direction and supervision of all aspects of the Union’s activities;
- the day-to-day conduct, including the management of the business of the Union; and
- the General Administrative functions.
Having been elected into office in 2018, the term of the current Central Executive Committee will expire in July 2022. The Central Executive elections for the new term is carded for September 7, 2022, and will allow the general membership to determine who will manage the Union over the 2022 – 2026 period.
The process, as identified, will be as follows:
- Nomination Day – July 5, 2022
- Elections Day – September 7, 2022
